KL Rahul can be one of the leading run-getter in the ongoing Test series between India and England. The right-hander scored a brilliant 84 in the first innings of the first Test to help India take a crucial lead. Notably, Rahul wasn’t India’s first-choice opener and was probably seen as a middle-order option. However, a shin injury to Shubman Gill and a concussion blow to Mayank Agarwal meant Karnataka batsman got the nod to open alongside Rohit Sharma.

KL Rahul however, has been dependable and most versatile batsman for Team India in the limited-overs format and has proved his mettle by scoring runs consistently for the nation in almost all the games. The Karnataka born batsman, however, has a good record in Tests in England as in his previous outing, Rahul scored a brilliant knock of 149 runs. In 36 Test matches thus far, the right-hander has amassed as many as 2006 runs at an average of 34.6 and strike rate of 56.5.
