The two cricketing giants are clashing off each other in the five-Test series. Virat Kohli’s men defeated Australia earlier this year at their home and would be looking to create history by beating England at their home for the first time since 2007. England on the other hand after having tough last few months in the longest format of the game would be looking for redemption and avenge their defeat over India after a 3-1 loss earlier this year.

The Test series between India and England will also be the first assignment for both these sides in the second edition of the WTC cycle. With both the teams set to miss some players due to injuries, the series will give a chance to some of the new players to show their mettle.

Despite bagging a duck in the first innings of the first Test match against India at Trent Bridge, England’s opener Rory Burns can end the series as the highest run-getter. The Southpaw has been in the prime form of late and finished as man of the series in the recently concluded two-match series against New Zealand before the ICC World Test Championship final.

His unorthodox technique could be key for England in the ongoing five-Test series. The left-handed batsman has been excellent in Test cricket so far. In the 25 tests so far, Rory Burns has scored 1529 runs for England at an average of 33.2 to go with three hundred and nine half-centuries.
