The bowlers got a fine purchase off the surface in the 1st session of Day 3, which was quite unexpected given the forecast. India seal the Day 3 with Impressive Batting performance
The Indian batters had a good outing on the Day 3 of the ENG vs IND 4th Test Match. Starting with 1st session, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma played the England pacers well and put a strong resistance. Although they could not score many runs, the team gained a psychological advantage. Rohit Sharma scored his 1st overseas century and caused a major setback to the home team.

Then Pujara came at the crease and provided further momentum to the team’s cause. He played a positive cricket and it was a delight to see Pujara coming into his own and his knock will be remembered as well.
How important will be the First Hour of Day 4?
The weather is expected to be cleared out a bit and it will be a good batting surface on Day 4. But the first session, more importantly the first hour is likely to decide the winner of the match. If the Team India play cautiously, the ball will get older and provide assistance to the batters.

The Indian team have Rahane, Pant and Shardul Thakur as its next potential batters who can score runs. With a lead of 171 runs, the Indian team has been rock-solid until now, and if the middle-order as well as lower order perform well, it will be a great chance for visitors to clinch a resounding victory.
