The 4th Test between India and England is underway and there has been excitement by the cricket fraternity to see which teams comes over the top to have an edge in the test series. The test has been quite interesting, with the top batters of the Indian team barring Kohli struggling to get going and then Shardul Thakur providing contribution with half-century. After a fine end to Day 1 for the Indian team, the England team have played well today.
England team take the 1st innings Lead
After 2 quick wickets in the first hour of the game, the pair of Bairstow and Ollie Pope lead the fightback for the home team. Their partnership of 69 runs helped to build a solid foundation after the team looked in a trouble.

After Bairstow’s dismissal, Moeen Ali came to the crease and scored 35 runs and helped the team to go past the Indian team’s total of 191 and take the 1st innings lead. The all-rounder was looking quite comfortable in his entire stay before he gave an easy catch to Rohit Sharma off Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling. While, Ollie Pope has been impressive with his ball striking capabilities and has countered the Indian bowlers well.
Can Pope and Woakes provide further pain to the visitors?
The middle-order batsman Ollie Pope is looking all set to score his 2nd Test Century in the ENG vs IND 4th Test. He has been perfect with his resistance against the Indian bowlers and will require the support of Chris Woakes, who is also a handy batsman. The England team has already taken the lead of 36 runs.

The Indian bowlers will have to pull their socks up and bring energy into the field to take wickets of the tailenders. One positive for the Indian team will be Ravindra Jadeja scalping a wicket and supporting in a relatively flat surface.
