After an exciting second Test match at Lord’s, which visitors won by 151 runs, England and India are squaring off in the third Test match at Headingley, Leeds. While Virat Kohli-led side went unchanged, the home side made two changes from the last Test match, bringing in Dawid Malan and Craig Overton in place of Dom Sibley and Mark Wood respectively.
James Anderson rattles Indian top order
Indian skipper Virat Kohli finally managed to win the toss and decided to bat first in the third Test match against England. The decision to bat first didn’t do any good to India as English pacer James Anderson in the very first over of the match removed in-form KL Rahul for a duck. Things got even worse when Premier pacer managed to find the outside edge of Cheteshwar Pujara to send him packing for 1.

Indian skipper then joined hands with Rohit Sharma to steady the Indian ship but it was only a matter of time until Anderson dismissed his arch-nemesis, Virat Kohli, for only 7 runs. The wicket of Kohli brought Ajinkya Rahane to the crease who along with senior opener stitched 35 runs partnership and just on the stroke of Lunch nicked one of off Ollie Robinson for 18 runs to leave visitors tumbling in the first session of the Day 1 at Leeds.
At Lunch on Day 1, the Virat Kohli-led side are 56/4 with Rohit Sharma unbeaten at the crease for 15 runs.

ENG vs IND Live: Rohit Sharma stands tall for India
Indian opener Rohit Sharma so far has looked like the most settled Indian batsman in the third Test match. Despite wickets falling at the other end, the right-handed batsman made sure that he does not panic and gift his wicket away. The Mumbai Indians skipper was very watchful and solid in his defence, showing great promise. Even though he scored only 15 runs in the first session but he settled the Indian innings to some extent after early wickets.
