After a disappointing end to the first Test match, England and India are squaring off in the second Test match at Lord’s cricket ground. Both the side made some changes to their playing XI. While England drafted Moeen Ali, Mark Wood and Haseeb Hammed, India on the other hand had a forced change as injured Shardul Thakur was replaced by Ishant Sharma.
Rohit, Rahul give India a solid start at Lord’s
Invited to bat first, Indian openers continued their good form from the first Test match and gave their team a solid opening start. Both the openers showed great grit and composure and negotiated the tricky first hour of the play.

Among both Rohit Sharma played the aggressive role, smashing Sam Curran for four boundaries in an over before drinks break while Kl Rahul was at his defensive best. The duo notched up unbeaten 46 runs in the first session for the opening wicket before the play was stopped due to the rain. Rohit Sharma is unbeaten at 35 runs while Kl Rahul has scored 10 runs so far.
ENG vs IND Live: Rain forced early Lunch on Day 1 at Lord’s
After playing a spoilsport in the first Test match at Trent Bride, Rain once again played his part and interrupted the first session of the second Test match between the nations at the Lord’s cricket ground. Just at the start of the match players took their positions, the rain returned to frustrate everyone. However, it was a teasing little spell of the rain as the play started after a few minutes.

With only 18 overs bowled in the first session, rain halted the first session yet again which forced umpires to send players back to the dressing room and take early lunch on Day 1 of the second Test match between England and India at Lord’s cricket ground.
