Indian cricket team had a dominated outing on the first day of the second Test match against England at the Lord’s cricket ground. The Indian openers dominated the proceedings and scored 126 runs for the 1st wicket. While Kl Rahul remained unbeaten on 127 runs, Rohit Sharma played a vital role and scored 84 runs.
However, the hosts made a great comeback in the first session of Day 2 and dismissed two overnight batsmen KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane in the first two overs and then followed it with the wickets of Rishabh Pant and Mohammad Shami few overs before the lunch.
Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja take India past 340
Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja came to bat early in the day after the fall of two quick wickets and steadied the India innings, helping the visitors to cross the 340-run mark. While the wicketkeeper-batsman played in his usual aggressive way, the all-rounder was very watchful and slowly moved the score-card.

The duo stitched 49 runs together until Rishabh Pant was caught by Jos Buttler off Mark Wood for 37 runs. The wicket of southpaw brought Mohammad Shami to the crease who failed to trouble the scorers and bagged a two-ball duck. Ravindra Jadeja on the other hand is looking strong and remained unbeaten. At Lunch on Day 1, the Virat Kohli-led side are 346/7 with Ishant Sharma (0*) and Jadeja (31*) at the crease.
ENG vs IND Live: KL Rahul departs after scoring valiant 127 runs
KL Rahul scored a majestic ton on Day 1 of the second Test match at Lord’s and etched his name on the Honors Board. The right-handed batsman continued his red hot form from the first Test match, where he scored 84 runs and followed it with a sublime 129 runs in the first innings of the second Test match at Lord’s cricket ground.

After the wicket of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul led the charge on Day 1 and was spot on with his cover drives. The Karnataka batsman showed nerves of steel and stayed unbeaten on 127 runs off 248 balls with the help of 12 fours and one six at stumps on Day 1.
However, the Punjab Kings skipper managed to add only 2 runs to his overnight score of 127 runs as he was caught at cover by Dominic Sibley off Ollie Robinson. Rahul went for the drive on the delivery that was pitched outside off but he failed to keep it down and saw himself back in the dressing room in the first over of Day 2.
