Most challenging World Cup, says Kohli
“This will be the most challenging World Cup out of the three I have been part of because of the format. It’s a different challenge and one that every team will have to adapt to,” said Kohli, who will be playing his third World Cup.
This time the format will be same as the one used in 1992, where all ten teams will play a total of nine matches against each of the other teams, and the top four teams will qualify for the semi-final.
The 15- member squad led by captain Virat Kohli will play two practice games, one on May 25 and the other on May 28 against New Zealand at The Oval and Bangladesh at Cardiff respectively. India will play against South Africa on June 5 at the Rose Bowl to mark the beginning of their campaign.
