India squad for ZIM vs IND ODIs: In a massive breaking news development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced the India squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. After a long time gap, Team India is all set to tour Zimbabwe where they will be playing as many as three ODI matches. The first ODI encounter between hosts Zimbabwe and India is scheduled to start on 18 August, 2022 and all the three ODI games will be played at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.

The visiting Indian team have announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming 3 ODI matches in Zimbabwe. The big news is that after having led the national team to an amazing 3-0 series whitewash in the West Indies, senior opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has once again been announced as the captain of the side while youngster Rahul Tripathi has earned his maiden call-up in the ODI team. India’s premier seam bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar also makes his return to the national side after having completely recovered from injury.

Also, off-spinner Washington Sundar makes his return to the national side after a while. As expected, senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested for the Zimbabwe ODIs. However, there were previous reports that suggested Kohli might be part of the India squad for the Zimbabwe tour in order to get back into form. Surprisingly the trio of Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav and Arshdeep Singh who were part of the India ODI squad in the Caribbean have not been named in this team.
