One of the most entertaining formats in cricket is T20s. The amount of intensity it brings is second to none. There is no resting period in that format. The action will be high -octane right from the word go. The total game which ends in 40 overs has lots to offer to fans in terms of glitz and glamour and eye-catching shots.
Yuvraj Singh has spoken about the unimaginable double ton barrier in T20 cricket and picks 3 players who he thinks can get to that milestone.
Yuvraj gets cheeky about Chris Gayle
The universe BOSS, Chris Gayle, who holds the record for the highest score by a batsman in T20s has been playing since 2 decades now. There is never-ending speculation about his retirement from international cricket. The BOSS himself has hinted several times that he will retire after certain series but somehow hee seems to postpone the big announcement. When asked about who could achieve a double ton in T20s, the southpaw said
Well Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers (South Africa) have retired from international cricket, oh wait, Gayle is still playing I forgot. In my eyes these were the two guys who could have scored a double hundred in T20I cricket
Yuvraj backs Rohit Sharma to get a double ton in T20s
The Indian limited-overs vice-captain is probably one batsman who has both power and elegance combined in his game. A combination that is very rare to find in players in the modern era. The #2 batsman in the world has 3 double centuries under his belt in the 50 over format which is the most by any batsman in the world. Rohit is a naturally attacking player who likes to take the bowler on from the word go. In the past few years, the hit-man has curbed his instincts to take time at the start of the innings and then launch after getting to the feel of the pitch.
He is one of those batsmen who can make turmoil in the ground when he is on song. Yuvraj Singh believes that if anyone who can get to that double century in T20s, then it can be the 4-time IPL winning captain Rohit Sharma himself.
Rohit Sharma would be the third guy I can think of when it comes to a double T20 ton. He is very clean, and very elegant when it comes to his shots.
I don’t think anyone else comes close to Rohit really when it comes to hitting the ball cleanly.
