With the nation on lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak, the masses are laying low as per the government’s orders. As a result of the ongoing situation, some of the world renowned sporting cricketers are taking to social media, and engaging more with their fans through a Q and A session on twitter, or through a live session on instagram.
We’ve seen the likes of Kevin Pieterson, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah go live on instagram while answering their fans quetries. But recently now it’s India’s veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who went live to talk about what he has been up to lately, his recent move from Kings XI Punjab to Delhi Capitals, and the reason why he took up off-spin.
When asked about how he spends his time in the lockdown period, Ashwin said that he’s spending as much time with his family since he’s been missing out for the last 10 years.
On being asked why he chose to become a spinner and who inspired him the most, The Chennai based player said that Harbhajan Singh’s iconic performance in the 2001 Test series versus Australia had an impact in his life which made him want to pursue spin-bowling.
