Both India and New Zealand are on the verge of creating history, as the team to win the title, will be the first ever crowned World Test Champions.
Team India were currently taking part in the Intra-Squad Test to get all warmed up before the mega event. Players such as Rihabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Siraj were few of the standout performers.
Talking about New Zealand, they are fresh off a 1-0 series win over hosts England. As a result of their recent win, the Kiwis now sit on top of the ICC Test Rankings.
WTC Points Table 2021
However, if we look at the WTC Points Table, that’s where India resides at the pinnacle with 12 wins, four defeats, a draw and 520 points on board. New Zealand, are just a spot below, with seven wins, four draws and 420 points to their names.

India hasn’t had the best of time facing New Zealand in the recent past. They ended up facing defeat in the semi finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup of 2019, and were also beaten 2-0 in the Test series in New Zealand. Virat Kohli and his men will be looking to even the odds, and a win within the course of five days could brush off past failures to significant degree.
WTC Final Schedule
The IND vs NZ WTC Final is scheduled from June 18-22, and will be hosted at the Ageas Bowl Stadium, Southampton. The match starts off at 3:00 PM (IST) and will be broadcasted on the Star Sports Network.
