Trailblazers Playing 11: Amidst the exciting Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) season, it is also time for another edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge. A total of three teams, Trailblazers, Supernovas and Velocity will be seen fighting it out in a short T20 tournament comprising of as many as four matches including the grand finale on 28 May, 2022. All the four matches are scheduled to be hosted at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Trailblazers will start their campaign as the defending champions after having won the previous edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge in 2020. The opening match of the competition will witness the Trailblazers lock horns against Supernovas on 23 May, 2022 in Pune. The explosive duo of skipper Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues will open the batting. The likes of Hayley Matthews, Sabbhineni Meghana, Sharmin Akhter and wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh will form part of the middle order.

The trio of Sophia Dunkley, Poonam Yadav and Rajeshwari Gayakwad will be the spinners in the Trailblazers playing 11. Salma Khatun will be the fourth overseas player while one of Arundhati Reddy or Renuka Singh will also be part of the side.
