The Indian captain Virat Kohli has cleared that he is ready to play without an altercation but at the same time stated that if Australia wants to play a certain way, India will reciprocate in that way.
We are always the ones giving back: Kohli
The Indian captain was speaking with the media ahead of India’s tour of Australia. He said that when it comes to on-field altercation India were always the ones giving it back. He noted that they were never the ones starting anything. So as long as it doesn’t start, they don’t have a problem in focussing on their game and just doing what they need to do.
Kohli observed that they don’t necessarily need to go and look out for something. He explained that if Australia wants to play a certain way, India will reciprocate in that way. He feels that’s how the game of cricket works. He revealed that in their mind, they have to keep it competitive and don’t let their energies drop. That will be their main focus.
Kohli feels captaincy has toned down his behavior
When asked about his past behavior in Australia, Kohli explained that those were very immature things that he used to feed on in the early days of his career so that he could get pumped up and don’t necessarily feel all that pressure and the focus is precise.
He pointed out that now being captain of the team, he literally has no room for anything else but think of what the team wants all the time. So there’s no need for these things at all.

Have faith in my abilities: Kohli
The Indian skipper further stated that when it comes to getting engaged in an argument, or a fight, as people like to call it excitedly, he has been completely okay with playing without an altercation. At a personal level, he doesn’t need to find these things anymore. He stated that he has enough belief in his abilities that he can play without a reason to pump himself up.
