MS Dhoni to play for CSK in IPL 2022: After announcing retirement from all forms of international cricket, there has been this question on the minds of every cricket fan, for how long will MS Dhoni continue to play in the yellow jersey for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In a noticeable fact, the World Cup-winning captain has also been named as the mentor of the Indian team for this year’s ICC T20 World Cup.
Will MS Dhoni Play for CSK in IPL 2022?
The Chennai Super Kings became the first franchise to qualify for the IPL 2021 playoffs. However, in their last league stage match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), MS Dhoni was asked if he will be seen in the yellow jersey in IPL 2022 or not. Just like his natural attitude, the CSK captain once again came up with a surprising answer. Dhoni mentioned that he will definitely be seen in the Chennai Super Kings jersey but there are a lot of uncertainties with regards to the mega auction before the next season of the IPL.
“Well, you can see me in yellow next year. But whether I will be playing for CSK? There are a lot of uncertainties around it for a simple reason that we have two new teams coming up. We don’t know the retention policy. We don’t know how many foreigners, Indian players we can retain, the money cap that every player will be cutting from the kitty. So there are a lot of uncertainties. Unless the rules are in place you can’t really decide that. So we will wait for it to happen and hopefully it will be good for everyone,” said MS Dhoni on his future in the IPL.
