SA Playing 11: It’s the last match of South Africa’s tour of West Indies as both teams get ready to face each other in the 5th T20I here at Grenada. This has been an excellent tour for South Africa who were struggling to win matches. With Test series having won comprehensively, they have faced a far tough competition in this format. It will be a difficult task for them against this star-studded West Indies side. In the head-to-head record in T20Is, SA leads WI 8-6.
Team News
- Anrich Nortje has a bruised left knee and may sit out of the match if he doesn’t recover on time.
- Sisanda Magala has an ankle niggle making him unavailable for selection.
SA Playing 11 (likely)
Quinton de Kock (wk)
Reeza Hendricks
Temba Bavuma (C)
Aiden Markram
Rassie van der Dussen
David Miller
George Linde
Kagiso Rabada
Lizaad Williams
Lungi Ngidi
Tabraiz Shamsi
Apart from Quinton de Kock, no other SA batter has scored runs consistently. SA will need the other batters in the eleven to rise to the occasion to give support to de Kock. The Proteas have also been unable to find quick runs towards the end and David Miller’s poor run of form is a big reason for that. The spinners have been SA’s strongest weapons in bowling this series. Both Shamsi and Linde have picked up big wickets in middle overs.
