In a crucial news update, hosts West Indies have dropped all-rounder Raymon Reifer for the second and final Test match against India starting from 20 July, 2023 at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad. West Indies will surely be feeling very much low on confidence as they are coming into this match on the back of a poor innings and 141-run loss at the hands of the visiting Indian team inside a total of three days. The hosts will be eyeing to make a fighting comeback both in the batting as well as bowling departments to level the series.
WI vs IND: Why is Raymon Reifer Not Playing West Indies vs India 2nd Test?
West Indies premier all-rounder Raymon Reifer misses out from the Test squad for the WI vs IND 2nd Test. He failed to contribute much with the bat as his scores read 2 and 11 respectively in both the innings of the opening Test match against India. The left-arm seam bowling all-rounder also bowled as many as four overs with the ball but ended up without a single wicket. In his short Test career so far, Reifer has scored a total of 298 runs from as many as 8 Test matches at a poor average of less than 25 that includes three half-centuries. The 32-year-old left-arm pacer has taken as many as three wickets at an average of over 56. West Indies have now brought in off-spinner Kevin Sinclair in the squad for the second Test match against India starting from Thursday.
