WI vs ENG: In an important news development, the visiting England team have announced their 12-man squad for the upcoming first Test match against West Indies scheduled to begin from 8 March at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. West Indies is all set to host England for a three-match Test series with the second and third Tests starting on 16 and 24 March, 2022 respectively. This will be England’s first Test assignment without the veteran duo of Stuart Broad and James Anderson in a long while especially after the heart-breaking Ashes 2021-22 series in Australia.

The big news from the recently announced England’s 12-member squad for the opening Test match against West Indies is that the visitors will miss their premier speedster Ollie Robinson who has not yet recovered from a back spasm. Noticeably, England fast bowler Mark Wood was also unable to take the field after undergoing precautionary blood tests during the team’s solitary warm-up fixture in Coolidge, but he has been included in the side for the first game. Dan Lawrence has been included in the final 12-man squad ahead of Ollie Pope after the former’s 83-run knock in the practice match.
