ENG Playing 11: The 2nd Test between West Indies and England will be played in Barbados from March 16, Wednesday. After a humiliating Ashes defeat, Joe Root & Co’s re-set didn’t start off on a good note as they were reduced to 48/4 in the very first session after opting to bat. However, Jonny Bairstow’s first innings hundred and Joe Root’s second innings ton helped England set the home side a target of 286 in 71 overs. Though the game was heading towards the draw, England bounced back by reducing Windies to 67 for 4 shortly after tea. But Nkrumah Bonner and Jason Holder batted out 35.4 overs to secure a draw and keep the series level.
Barring the first session of the opening day, England got better and better throughout the game and will be hoping to continue the momentum and take a crucial lead in the three-match series.
