Who won today’s IPL match?: The fourth match of the IPL 2022 saw two new teams Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans clashing each other at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The two new teams left a mark straightway on the tournament as both of them executed sensational skills with both bat and ball. But it was the Hardik Pandya-led side who had a last laugh today and earned the important two points.

Asked to bat first, Lucknow Super Giants had a horrendous start as pacer Mohammad Shami rattled through their top order. He removed skipper KL Rahul on the very first ball of the match and then castled Quinton de Kock (7) with a peach of a delivery and Manish Pandey (6) with another snorter. Varun Aaron also kept things tight at the end removed Evin Lewis to leave LSG tumbling at 29/4.
Deepak Hooda (55) and youngster Ayush Badoni (52) then led the rescue charge of their team. The duo initially rotated the strike and then took charge ofGT bowlers. They stitched 87 runs partnership until Hooda was removed by Rashid Khan. Badoni on the other hand continue his carnage and a cameo of 21 runs by Krunal Pandya in the end, helped the KL Rahul-led side post a total of 159 runs on the board.
Chasing the target, Gujarat Titans had a similar start as they of LSG as they pacer Dushamanth Chameera removed Shubman Gill for a duck and Vijay Shankar for just 4 runs in his first two overs. Matthew Wade and Skipper Hardik Pandya then steadied the ship and notched up 57 runs partnership. Krunal Pandya then removed his brother for 33 runs and then in two overs later Deepak Hooda bowled Wade for 30 runs.
David Miller and Rahul Tewatia kept Gujarat in hunt and took LSG bowlers to cleaners to bring the RunRate down. However, there was a twist in the tale when Avesh Khan removed South Africa batsman for 30 runs. Tewatia on the other hand continued his carnage and kept scoring boundaries. With 11 runs needed off 6 balls, Abhinav Manohar (15*) smashed boundaries on the first two balls and tilted match towards his side. The Southpaw then scored boundary on the last ball and won match for his side. He remained unbeaten on 40 runs and took his side home.

Gujarat Titans pacer Mohammad Shami was adjudged Player of the Match in the match against Lucknow Super Giants. Opening the bowling for his side, Shami gave his side a dream start as he removed LSG skipper KL Rahul on the very first ball of the match. He made opposition batsmen look clueless and tested them with his line and lengths. In his second over he removed Quinton de Kock with a Jaffa and then returned to send back Manish Pandey in his third over. The Indian pacer returned with the figures of 3/25 and helped his side win the match.
