Who won today’s IPL match?: The third match of IPL 2022 took place between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings at DY Patli Stadium in Mumbai. In what a carnival of runs, the batting greats stepped in put on a wonderful display to put their team on the top. The match, where over 400 runs were scored, went down the wire and gave fans everything to cheer about. But in the end PBKS held their nerves and made sure that they emerge victorious in a high-scoring thriller and clinch important two points.

Invited to bat first, Royal Challengers Bangalore had a decent opening start and put on 50 runs partnership for the first wicket. The duo then kept ticking the scoreboard at regular intervals and after some time the Proteas batter found his mojo back and was ruthless on PBKS’ bowlers.
He stitched 118 runs partnership with Virat Kohli and went on to score 87 runs on his debut as RCB skipper. Coming to bat at 4, Dinesh Karthik then made sure that RCB finish the innings on high. He came out all guns blazing and scored a quickfire 32 runs. He stitched 37 runs with Kohli, who scored 41*, and helped his side post a total of 205 runs on the board.
Chasing the target, openers Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal came out all guns blazing and went after bowlers from the ball one. They want at RR of 10 and stitched 71 runs for the opening partnership until the captain was removed by Wanindu Hasaranga for 32 runs. The wicket of Agarwal was a blessing in disguise for PBKS as Bhanuka Rajapaksa then played a blinder and dealt only in boundaries.
He along with Dhawan made sure that their side doesn’t lose the momentum and kept scoring runs at the higher rate. Dhawan fell to Harshal Patel after scoring 43 runs. There was a twist in the tale in the 14th over as Mohammed Siraj remove Rajapaksa and Rajangad Bawa on two successive deliverers to put PBKS under pressure. Liam Livingstone looked good for his 19-run knock but perished after soon. After that Shahrukh Khan and Odean Smith joined hands together and made sure that PBKS doesn’t waste the start they got. The hard-hitting duo made everyone go bonkers and won the match for their side with 6 balls to spare. They chased 206 runs with 5 wickets in hand.

Punjab Kings all-rounder Odean Smith was named Player of the Match in the match against Royal Challengers Banglore. In what was his debut game in IPL, Smith played a brute of a knock to take his side home. After PBKS lost wickets in quick successions, it seemed that RCB would close the game in the next few overs. But this wasn’t the case, the West Indian all-rounder scored 28 runs in just 8 balls and made sure that PBKS chase the target with one over to spare.
