India and Sri Lanka clashed with each other in second game of the three-ODI series in Kolkata. It was a game that Indian bowlers dominating the Sri Lanka batters but their batters failed to step on the stage despite getting start. However, a solidarity performance from low order saw India clinching the game by 4 wickets and bagging the series 2-0, with one match to go.

Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first, but their decision didn’t pay off as they lost wickets in clusters and weren’t off the great start. Debutant Nuwanidu Fernando smashed a fifty whereas thirties from Kusal Mendis (34) and Dunith Wellalage (32) powered the visitors to the total of 215 runs.
For India, it was Mohammad Siraj (3/30), Kuldeep Yadav (3/51) and Umran Malik (2/48) who shined with the ball and helped their side to bundle out the opposition for a low total. Chasing the target, India were off the flying start. But they tumbled in a flash as they lost Rohit Sharma (17), Shubman Gill (21), Virat Kohli (4) and Shreyas Iyer (28) for just 86 runs.
KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya (35) then rescued the Indian innings and stitched 75-run partnership to bring India back into the game. After that Axar Patel did the remaining job and came out with positive mindset, scoring run a ball 21 runs to take India close to the target. Rahul (64*) then smashed his half-century and took his side home with 4 wickets in hand.

Indian leg spinner Kuldeep Yadav was awarded Player of the Match in the second ODI between India and Sri Lanka. The spinner was on the top of the game and brought his side back into the game after the opposition with three quick wickets in the middle. He returned with the figures of 3/51 and on his comeback and guided India to win.
