IND vs SL 1st T20I: India and Sri Lanka locked horns in the first T20I of the three-match series in Mumbai. It was a game that reflected the aggressive approach of the hosts. For Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga was the pick of the bowlers as he returned with the figures of 1/22.
Defending the target, debutant Shivam Mavi took India to a fiery start and removed Pathum Nissanka (1) and Dhananjaya de Silva (8) early to leave the visitors tumbling at 24/2. Umran Malik and Harshal Patel then joined the party and took three quick wickets among them to leave the opposition tottering at 68/5. Dasun Shananka and Wanindu Hasaranga (21) tried their best but Indian bowlers held their nerves well and closed the match. With 13 runs needed off the last over, Axar Patel was handed the responsibility and he bowled staggeringly well and guided his side home with 2 runs in the bank. The young pacer Mavi was the pick of the bowlers as he returned the the figures of 4/22.
