BAN vs IND 2nd ODI: After a thrilling first game, Bangladesh and India clashed each other with each other in the second ODI of the three-match series at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. It was a game that saw bowlers yet again getting on the top of the batters. But it was the hosts yet again who emerge victorious and sealed the series 2-0 with one match to go.

Bangladesh skipper Litton Das won the toss and put India to bowl first. His decision to bat first didn’t pay off as India pacers Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik breathed fire upfront and along with Washington Sundar bowled a terrific spell of bowling and reduced the hosts to 69/6.
With the way things were going, It didn’t seem that Bangladesh would score over 100 runs but this wasn’t the case as Mahmudullah (77) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz lead a strong comeback after a poor start and smashed highest-ever 7th wicket partnership against India in ODI history with 148 runs.
A century by latter in the end, helped Bangladesh post a total of 271 runs on the board. For India, Washington Sundar was the pick of the bowlers as he returned with the figures of 3/37.
Chasing the target, it was a horrendous start for India as they lost Virat Kohli, who came to open, for just 5 runs and then lost Shikhar Dhawan as well for 8 runs. If this was not enough they lost Washington Sundar (11) as well as they saw themselves tumbling at 39/3. Stand-in skipper KL Rahul too perished early for 14 runs
Shreyas Iyer then along with Axar Patel held the Indian innings. He played a staggering knock of 82 runs but failed to take his team home. The latter too played a decent knock as he scored 56 runs but he also failed to take his side home. Just when it seemed India are completely out of the game, skipper Rohit Sharma, who injured his finger, came out to bat and showed great courage. With 40 runs needed off the last two overs, the senior opener smashed Mahmudullah for 20 runs in an over. He then took Mustafizur to the cleaners in the last over as well but failed to take his side home as he fell short of 5 runs.

Mehidy Hassan was awarded Player of the Match in the second ODI between Bangladesh and India. The all-rounder played one of the his best innings and scored his maiden century and won his side match to seal the series. After being 69/5, he took his side to the total of 271 runs and also chipped in with ball as well. He removed KL Rahul for 14 runs and also sent well set Shreyas Iyer packing for 82 runs.
