Over the years, the Indian Premier League has witnessed all-rounders taking centre stage during the games and the auctions as well. Being a rare commodity, all-rounders have always been in demand during the auctions as they are value-for-money courtesy of their dual role with the bat and the ball.
Furthermore, if the all-rounder is Indian and has the potential to make an impact, his demand hit the roof. Since 2008, all top all-rounders in world cricket have showcased their talent in the IPL. From Andrew Symonds, Shane Watson, and Jacques Kallis from the early seasons to Ben Stokes and Hardik Pandya, IPL has been a home to world-class all-rounders.
However, there have been some all-rounders who have a short career and there have been some who have been serving their respective teams for years now. Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard are two such examples of loyalty. Hence, compiling a list of the best all-rounders in the IPL wasn’t an easy task as we have to leave some quality all-rounders out of this list despite of their obvious game-changing capabilities.
