The eldest of the Pandya brothers and a constant member of the Indian T20I side, Krunal Pandya recently appeared in a popular television show hosted by Karan Wahi, wherein he was asked questions about his personal life, cricket career and bollywood connection. He had to go through rapid fire sessions and even danced to some of the famous bollywood songs.
Krunal faces Karan
The Mumbai Indians all-rounder entered the show dancing to the popular ‘Bala’ song from Housefull 4 while he even delivered his favourite dialogue from the movie ‘Gangs of Wasseypur 2’. When asked about his favourite actor, Krunal mentioned the name of Ajay Devgn and said that he finds a lot of similarities between both of them and hence the reason for naming him. The Baroda based all-rounder also elaborated on how he met the love of his life Pankhuri Sharma.
In a rapid-fire question and answer session, host Karan Wahi asked him to assign a cricketer to a Bollywood celebrity and here’s how Krunal replied to the questions:
“Chulbul Pandey is Kedar Jadhav, Mogambo is Shikhar Dhawan, Rowdy Rathore is Virat Kohli and Jai Veeru are Krunal and Hardik,”.
Virat becomes Rowdy Rathore
Salman Khan isKedar Jadhav‘s favourite actor and he himself on various occasions have stated that. The all-rounder had once celebrated his hundred in the trademark Dabangg style. Most of his social media posts indicate his fandom towards the actor.
Shikhar Dhawan’s moustache and personality have always drawn comparisons between him and some of the famous Bollywood villains. So Krunal’s these two comparisons were spot on.
But everyone was surprised when Krunal named Virat Kohli as the ‘Rowdy Rathore’ of the cricket world as the Indian skipper has worked a lot on his behaviour. He was even the recipient of the ICC spirit of cricket award this year for the concern that he showed for Steve Smith in the World cup match against Australia when Indian fans booed Smith.
Ultimately, he named himself and his brother, Hardik Pandya as the ‘Jai-Veeru’ of the cricket world as there could not be a better pair of friends from Bollywood to be compared with the Pandya brothers.
Krunal eyes India return
Krunal Pandya, who has lost his place in the Indian T20I side will be hoping to have a brilliant season for Mumbai Indians in this IPL to make his case stronger for the spot of spin bowling all-rounder in the Indian T20I side. He is facing tough competition from Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar, who are putting up decent performances on each and every chance they get.
