Hailing from Karachi, Abrar Ahmed is a right-arm leg break bowler who set the stage on fire in when he made his T20 debut in 2017 for Karachi Kings in PSL. It was not far when he made his FC debut as he played for Sindh in the 2020-21 Quaid-e-Azam before making his List A debut for Pakistan Shaheens in the same year.
He stole the limelight when in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2022-23 where he scalped 43 wickets for Sindh in 7 matches at an average of 21.95 to go with five 5-wicket hauls and one 10-wicket haul. He ended the domestic tournament as a leading wicket taker, which was one of the main reason he received his national call-up.
Talking about his stats, Abrar Ahmed has played 14 FC matches in which he has taken 76 wickets at an average of 25.56 to go with 7 five-wicket hauls and 2 ten-wicket hauls. Abrar Ahmed picks seven-wicket haul in his debut TestÂ
Abrar Ahmed produced a magnificent display of spin bowling and exhibited his variations to make a mockery of English batters. He started with a wicket of Zack Crawley as he trapped him in LBW, then went on to remove the likes of Ben Duckett Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes, and Will Jacks. Abrar returned with the figures of 7/122 and his heroics helped his side bundle out the opposition for just 281 runs.
