Lucknow and Ahmedabad to be new Franchises from IPL 2022
The bidding and verification process has been completed for adding the two new IPL teams from 2022 edition. The Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchises have been chosen by the owners due to the world class facilities in the respective stadiums. It was already said that BCCI wants to target the Hindi audience with these teams, and Ekana Stadium in Lucknow and Narendra Modi Stadium fulfils their purpose.

The RP Sanjiv Goenka Group won the bid for the Lucknow franchise for a price of Rs. 7090 Crores, while the CVC Capitals will be the owner of Ahmedabad franchise by shelling out Rs. 5600 Crores.
