West Indies women names an injury replacement
The West Indies women have named a replacement for Kycia Knight who injured her back in the first ODI and couldn’t make it to the second one. Right-handed batter Britney Cooper will be replacing her for the third ODI which is scheduled to take place on 11th September.
Kycia Knight was stretchered out of the field in the first ODI played on 5th September after suffering a back injury. She couldn’t come out to bat later as West Indies women suffered a humiliating loss by 178 runs.
On Tuesday 10th of September, she underwent some scans which forced the West Indies medical team to rule her out for the third and final ODI which will be played in North Sound, Antigua.
Who is Britney Cooper?
Cooper has played 42 ODIs for the West Indies women and has amassed 432 runs from 36 innings with unbeaten 55 being her best score. She last played an ODI against England Women in Chelmsford on 13th June 2019 where she got dismissed for 6 runs. She joined the squad on Monday.
Talking about the series, the hosts West Indies women are already down 0-2 in the three-match series and will be looking to play for pride and prestige in the final game.
