Kohli full of praise for young Shaw
Young Indian batsman Prithvi Shaw made a spectacular entry in Test cricket as he won the man of the tournament award against Windies. His performance has garnered plenty of appreciation and Indian captain Virat Kohli is highly impressed with him as well. Kohli infact believes that most cricketers weren’t even 10 percent of what Shaw is at his age.
Kohli feels Shaw is fearless and not reckless
While speaking with the media after India won the Test series 2-0, the Indian captain said that Prithvi Shaw has grabbed his chance beautifully. The Indian captain believes that the opening batsman is someone that can get the team off to the kind of start that the team requires.

In the second Test, Shaw started aggressively and accumulated 70 runs in no time but just when he looked set for a big score he lost his wicket while playing an expansive drive in covers. This error made a few people question the young batsman’s temperament. However, Kohli backed Shaw and pointed out that he is fearless and not reckless. He also stated it is great to have a guy who’s so fearless.
Shaw is very confident about his game: Kohli
At the same time, the right-hand batsman feels that the Indian opener is very confident about his game. He admitted that his batting might make someone feel like he’s going to nick off one now. But Kohli pointed out that the opener hardly nicks the ball. He revealed that this feature was seen when he was batting in the nets in England as well.
The Indian captain further added that Shaw was really attacking but in control throughout which is a very rare quality against the new ball and he feels that to play so many shots and be in control of all of them is a great sign.
