India skipper Virat Kohli said that his side is ready to give England a tough fight as they would be taking the battlefield with nothing to lose mentality.
India would be taking on hosts England for the first T20I in Old Trafford and the captain has promised to play fearless cricket against their opponents.
“We are not taking it as pressure. In fact it is a point of excitement to play against a good team at their home and get an opportunity to beat them in their home conditions,” he said.
“When England visited India last time, we won the series and the trophy is with us. They will have to play well to get it back. We will just go and express ourselves in every format,” he added.

Talking about the expectations from the tournament, Kohli said that their main motive was to keep improving throughout the tournament.
“We will try a lot of players in the shorter formats. Looking at the World Cup, we will look to improve our middle order and we have got a few things that we want to try and address as well.”
He also said, “We are expecting England to come hard at us and we certainly are looking forward to playing some hard cricket. It is going to be an exciting series and we think that we have a side capable of putting up a great fight. I want us to play good cricket and I want to be able to lead from the front.”
England captain Eoin Morgan said that his team will try to build on their success against Australia.
Jos Buttler hit England’s fastest T20I fifty at Edgbaston after being promoted as opener, but skipper suggests that his side would try to be flexible as they look forward to World T20 in Australia in 2020.
