Former India captain MS Dhoni’s name is echoing in the cricketing circles due to his retirement from the international cricket. Dhoni started his career with a bang as he went on to score scintillating hundreds in both formats, Tests and ODIs, early in his career. During MS Dhoni’s first test hundred, which came against Pakistan, Shoaib Akhtar bowled a beamer at the wicketkeeper-batsman intentionally.
Shoaib Akhtar accepted bowling the beamer intentionally to MS Dhoni
It was the 2nd test at Faisalabad against Pakistan and India were trying hard to save the follow-on. Walked in MS Dhoni and counter-attacked the Pakistani bowlers with his aggressive approach. Dhoni alongside Irfan Pathan bailed India out of trouble and former India captain scored an astounding hundred. He went on to scored 148 runs before getting out. He particularly attacked ‘Rawalpindi Express’ Shoaib Akhtar and once scored 3 fours on the first 5 deliveries of his over. Akhtar wasn’t pleased with the thrashing and vented out his frustration by bowling a beamer to MS Dhoni on the last delivery of the over.

Akhtar admitted to bowl the beamer deliberately to Dhoni during a conversation with Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel earlier this year. Akhtar said that he regrets bowling the beamer to Dhoni and accepted that he was furious after being thrashed by the willow of ‘captain cool’.
In case you didn’t know –
MS Dhoni made his debut under the leadership of the current BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly. Dhoni nailed his spot quickly in the ODI side as he went to score an explosive hundred (148 runs) against Pakistan in his fifth game only. Dhoni soon was drafted into the test side as well over Dinesh Karthik. The man from Ranchi justified his selection with another explosive hundred against Pakistan, this time in the red-ball cricket. Coincidently his first hundreds in both formats came in the 5th game, both hundreds were scored against Pakistan, and he scored 148 runs each time.
