Prithvi Shaw’s struggle against the short balls continued in India’s second innings of the ongoing first Test against New Zealand on Sunday. After scoring 16 off 18 balls in the first innings, Shaw was sent packing on 14 in the second innings as Tom Latham took a stunning catch after Kiwi pacer set up the right-hander perfectly.
Exploiting Shaw’s weakness against the short deliveries, Boult bowled a short one to right-hander in the 8th over of India’s second innings. The ball was travelling down the leg side before Shaw managed to flick in the air and saw Latham take a stunning diving catch at the short backward square region. Shaw was not in control of the shot as his stay in the middle came to an end after a 30-ball 14.
