Australian cricket awards ceremony happened in a grand manner. The domestic season got over after the completion of the Big Bash tournament and everyone got ready for the gala event at Melbourne’s Crown Palladium for 2020 Cricket Australia Awards. All the big names were present along with their wags at the venue.
Emotional Warner
David Warner walked away with the biggest award for the night as he was crowned the Cricket Australia’s Cricketer of the year – Allan Border Medal award ahead of fellow nominees Pat Cummins and Steven Smith. Warner was seen teary eyed when delivering the speech as emotions got the better of him. A million memories flashed through his mind and it was clearly evident in his speech. David Warner was very thankful that he could play for the nation despite the fateful events that happened the year before. He also apologized for his lacklustre performance during the Ashes.

David went on to talk about the time he had away from the game in his speech.
It puts it into perspective of sitting back and when I reflect upon the time I had away from the game, you don’t realise the importance it has on everyone and I’m just extremely grateful to be accepted back by Cricket Australia and my peers and the fans
Mentions Virat Kohli
“To come back and have a summer like that and just contribute, it really put a smile on my face – and I hope it did for you guys as well. Having three daughters at home, looking up to guys like (Steve Smith) ”Smithy”, (Pat Cummins) ”Cummo” – playing cricket in the backyard they’re yelling out Virat Kohli’s name – but these are the smiles on kids.”
