Stuart Broad became the youngest bowler to pick 500 wickets when he pinned Kraigg Brathwaite plumb in front in the 2nd innings of the decider at Old Trafford. His father Chris Broad who also happens to be the match-refree for this game was delighted to see his son achieving such a remarkable feat
The 34 year old who debuted at the age of 21 has seen enough ups and downs throughout his career and has been a standout bowler for England in the red ball cricket along with another veteran in James Anderson.
A moment to cherish for Stuart Broad
West Indies are in all sorts of trouble and England are in the brink of a series victory here in Old Trafford. West Indies needed to bat out the day to save the test as well to retain the Wisden trophy but the pace quartet of England are too much for the Windies batters as they are falling like a pack of cards
Stuart Broad who was looking dangerous right from the word go dismissed Kraigg Brathwaite as his 500th wicket. Coincidentally, the opening batsman from Barbados was the 500th wicket for James Anderson as well.
A magic moment @StuartBroad8! ???

Stuart Broad is the 4th highest wicket taker for fast bowlers behind James Anderson, Glenn Mcgrath, Courtney Walsh in test cricket. This is surely an elite club to be a part of.
Can Stuart Broad end up as England’s leading wicket-taker?
James Anderson is still very much intact even at the age of 37 and is 11 wickets short of 600 wicket club. Stuart Broad is only 34 and has a good part of 4 years left in him and he can finish as the leading wicket taker for England in years to come. Out of his 500 test wickets, 320 have come in England for Stuart Broad. England are lucky to have 2 bowlers with more than 500 wickets playing at the same time
