The rain gods are showing no mercy as the 2nd test between England and Pakistan has been frequently interrupted by rain as both the teams are getting frustrated with the English weather. Pakistan captain Azhar Ali won the toss and decided to bat first for the 2nd consecutive time on one of the difficult conditions to bat.
Well set Babar Azam dismissed by a Jaffa
One of the most gifted and talented players in the world cricket at the moment in Babar Azam was dismissed by a peach of a delivery from Stuart Broad which completely squared him up that gave no chance for the batsman.
Babar Azam was batting beautifully until the dream delivery from Stuart Broad reached him. The ball that was pitched fuller came towards the batsman and moved a considerable amount of 1.2 degree away from the batsman which was enough to take the outside edge. Babar Azam was trying to defend it by staying in the back-foot but he was undone by an unplayable delivery from Broad.

The England bowlers made use of the perfect bowling conditions as they were swinging and seaming the ball even at the 79th over of the innings. The batsmen had no breathing time as the conditions for batting didn’t ease out even a bit.
Can England force a result?
Pakistan are struggling at the moment as they are 9 wickets down for 223 runs on the board. Considering the difficult level for batting, Pakistan should be relatively happy with their first innings score as they have a potent attack with the ball as well.
The wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan stood tall amongst the chaos and compiled an unbeaten 60 runs from 115 balls that included 5 boundaries. He showed his worth with this knock by playing with a stable head and showed great technique as well. Pakistan will be hoping to stretch their first innings total to 250 which is a good first innings total on this wicket.
With only 3 days of play possible and the weather forecast looking not so good, a draw looks highly likely at this point in time.
