During the final of the tri-series between India Women and Australia Women Shafali Verma hit Australian pace-bowler, Ellyse Perry over for a six which left the cricket fans stunned and in the awe of Indian opener’s hitting abilities.
What did Shafali Verma do?
Indian Women and Australian Women locked horns in the final of the tri-series on Wednesday morning. England Women were also a part of the series but they lost the final beth to the Indian Eves and the Australian Eves owing to their net run-rate.
During the final, Australian Women posted a decent score of 155/6 on board courtesy another fifty from Beth Mooney. It wasn’t going to be easy for the Indian Eves to chase the score but they came out with an aggressive mindset.
While Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana opened the batting for the Indian side, Ellyse Perry opened the bowling for the Australian team. Shafali Verma made her intentions clear from the beginning as she hit the Australian bowler for a boundary on the 4th ball of the opening over. However, it was the 6th bowl of the same over Verma hit Perry over long off’s head for a six.

Australia Women hosted India Women and England Women in a tri-series where India Women and Australia Women made it to the final of the series. In the final, batting first, Australia Women posted a target of 156 runs for the Indian Eves. However, despite a strong start, Indian Women failed to chase down the total in front of Jess Jonassen‘s brilliance. India Women lost the final by 11 runs to hand over the title to the hosts.
