The Sheffield Shield games are on full swing around different parts of Australia. All the test playing regulars are taking part in the tournament to help their state teams win the games as the 5 month long tournament is nearing its end.

The Australian national team selectors will be eagerly looking forward to the players who are showing immense ability and potential so that they can draft them to the Australian set-up.

The Australian middle-order sports a thin look with Mathew Wade and Travis Head although both have performed well in whatever chances they got. So the selectors will be keeping an eye on young upcoming middle order bats

Nathan Lyon plucks the ball from the air

Australia’s greatest off spinner of all time Nathan Lyon has been keeping himself busy by playing in the Sheffield Shield game for his state team New South Wales. His team is in commanding position at the end of day 2. Batting first, New South Wales posted a descent score of 372 runs on the board.

The South Australians walked into the middle with a task in hand of wiping out the New South Wales’s first innings score but at the end of day 2, they were reeling at 135 for the loss of 6 wickets, with another 238 runs in front of them.

The G.O.A.T spinner Nathan Lyon took a stunner of a catch to dismiss the veteran batsman Callum Ferguson who was playing well till that point in time.
