Meredith showcases football skills to affect a run-out
The incident happened on the second delivery of the ninth over during the match between Hobart Hurricanes and Adelaide Strikers. Hobart bowler Riley Meredith put on display his brilliant football skills to run-out Gibson at the striker’s end. The on-strike batsman Matt Renshaw played a delivery from Meredith. The ball landed just in front of the crease and he and Gibson called for a quick single. To everyone’s surprise, Meredith, who was the bowler came running towards the ball and kicked it onto the stumps to run out Gibson who was batting on 7.

Apart from this incredible fielding effort, Meredith showed his class in his bowling as well. In this match, he registered figures of 4-0-30-2 and even bowled a 152.2 Kmph bouncer to Strikers batsman Ryan Gibson. This incredible effort from Meredith helped his team secure the win in what was their second match of the tournament. Strikers who were chasing a moderate score of 175, collapsed in the chase even after Daniel Worrall and Danny Briggs stitched together an amazing 61 run partnership.
