Whenever India and Pakistan tend to lock horns on the cricket field, things are bound to get quite heated. With the junior level cricketers giving their all in the semi-final of the ICC Under19 World Cup, there was a comedy of errors which did catch the eye.

It was during the 30th over when the Pakistan U19 skipper, Rohail Nazir and middle-order batsman, Qasim Akram got involved in an embarrassing run out. Rohail tapped the leg-spinner Ravi Bishno’s delivery towards the short cover region and called for a single that was never on. Atharva Ankolekar was quick to pounce on the ball from within the circle and thre the ball back to the keeper Dhruv Jurel who completed one of the easiest run-outs in the tournament so far.

However, what made things look even more silly was that neither Rohai Nazir nor Qasim Akram was within the frame, as they were trying to save their own wickets by rushing back to the non-striker’s end.

With Qasim Akram not being able to reach the crease on time, he had back to the dressing room for a score of 9 (16). But this isn’t the first time the Pakistani’s have been a part of catastrophic running. The senior team has also had to face similar issues throughout the years.

Plenty of cricket fans took to social media to express their feelings of what they witnessed and drew comparisons to the past.

The Boys in Blue have done exceptionally well in the field to restrict their rivals for a score of 172 for the fall of all 10 wickets. Haider Ali and Rohail Nazir were the standouts for Pakistan with the bat as both ended up scoring a fifty each. For Team India, Sushant Mishra was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3     for 28 in eight overs. Kartik Tyagi and Ravi Bishnoi picked two wickets apiece, while, Atharva Ankolekar and Yashasvi Jaiswal chipped in a wicket each.

Head-to-Head in ICC Under 19 World Cup

India and Pakistan have squared off with one another on nine occasions on the past. Though it’s Pakistan which has the upper hand with five wins, India has won in each of the last four meetings.
