Australian pace bowler Mitchell Starc who hasn’t played as much T20I cricket in the recent times showed the world why he is the best in the world when it comes to uprooting the stumps despite the format. Starc, who is in the Australian team for the first T20I against South Africa, produced a terrific delivery to get rid of Quinton de Kock.
Starc gets In form De Kock
Fans on social media have gone absolutely mad seeing Starc deceive South African captain De Kock who was their best batsman in the recently-concluded T20I series against England. De Kock had scores of 31, 65 and 35 against Eoin Morgan’s side despite losing the 3-match T20I series 1-2.
Just three ball into the first over of the Proteas innings, Starc hit De Kock’s middle stump with an absolutely unplayable delivery.

Aussies dominate
The Aussies registered a strong total of 196 runs on the board, with Aaron Finch and Steve Smith building a strong partnership scoring with scores of 42 and 45 respectively. Later on in the innings Ashton Agar made sure that the Aussies nearly reached the 200-run mark.
Proteas collapse
South Africa struggled against the strong Aussie bowling attack. Openers De Kock and Rassie van der Dussen were dismissed inside the first four overs, with Starc and Pat Cummins being the wicket-takers respectively.
Faf du Plessis did try to rebuild the innings but he soon fell for Ashton Agar. His 24 from 22 was the highest for a Protea batsman could manage, with Kagiso Rabada’s 22 the second best.
Tough task ahead for Proteas
Proteas will hope to make a strong comeback against this world class Australian lineup. A big loss like this will surely affect the confidence of Proteas dressing room. It will be interesting to see how De Kock lead South African team would look to bounce back.
