The T20 matches around the world are coming thick and fast with all the countries preparing themselves for the box-office tournament in WT20 that is set to take place in October this year in Australia.
The defending champions in the T20 format have picked an absolute beast of a side for the Sri Lankan T20 series that includes the veteran Dwayne Bravo who has come out of the retirement few months back. The only notable name that was missing from the West Indies team is Evin Lewis who failed to prove his fitness test ahead of the T20I series.
Rampage Russell
West Indies won the toss and decided the bat first for the first time under Kieron Pollard. The pitch was conducive to batting as the ball came onto the bat really well and the West Indian openers Brandon King and the experienced Lendl Simmons really made use of the power play as they gave a massive platform for the powerhouses later to come.
The destructor Andre Russell was sent up the order and he just did what was expected from him. He thrashed the ball to all around the corner and accumulated 35 runs in just 14 balls that included 4 towering sixes and 2 boundaries in it.
Lasith Malinga’s toe-crusher too good for Andre Russell
All it took was just one delivery for the legend Lasith Malinga to stop the beast in Andre Russell as his perfect yorker dislodged the timber from the ground.

Pollard power propelled Windies to a formidable total
The opener Lendl Simmons anchored the innings well and played second fiddle to the power hitters in Andre Russell and Kieron Pollard. The captain played a destructive knock as he helped Windies to set a mammoth target of 197 to the Lankans. Kieron Pollard smashed a 15 ball 35 run knock. Lendl Simmons top scored for the team with a well compiled 67 from 51 balls.
