The corona virus pandemic have shrinked our lives into the comfort zone behind the 4 walls and our sporting superstars are no different. Much like the rest of the celebrities our national football captain Sunil Chhetri and cricket captain Virat Kohli has also taken to Instagram live session to interact with their fans and to reflect upon their career. During the session Chhetri asked Kohli to name the bowler that made him look stupid. And his answer made Chhetri laugh.
Kohli fumbles over Warne’s masterclass
The best modern day batsman and probably the greatest white ball player to have ever played the game, Virat Kohli has had an upper hand against almost each and every bowler he has come up against in his career. But during the Instagram live session with Sunil Chhetri he named the legendary Aussie cricketer Shane Warne as the one bowler who made him look stupid.
Considered as the greatest bowler to have ever played in this generation, Warne was a nightmare for every batsman around the world. His ability to bowl leg breaks, Wrong-un’s, flippers, drifter’s and to pitch the bowl consistently in the rough have confused batsman over the years.
As it happened
Kohli narrated an incident from the early days of the IPL, where Shane Warne who was captaining the then defending champions Rajasthan Royals, made a strong statement against him and made him look stupid. Warne was edging towards retirement and was not at his peak during that period.

“He made me look stupid in IPL 2009, then there was a game in Rajasthan in 2011, he was the captain of the Rajasthan Royals. I played decent there, i didn’t hit him, he didn’t get me out but we won the game and I remained not out. And that’s when he told me after the game, ‘never fight back say anything back to the bowler’. And obviously I didn’t listen” Kohli said.
The best of each generation
Despite all these both these legendary players have huge admiration for each other. Wane, who is also now an occasional commentator has at various occasion praised Virat Kohli and has even called him the best batsman in the world right now.
Kohli too on various occasions have heaped praise on the legendary leg spinner.
