After winning the last game of the T20I series, Australia have carried their momentum into the all important ODI series that comes under the ICC ODI super league. The most underrated white ball bowler in the world in Josh Hazlewood tied the aggressive and destructive England batting attack to nothing as he finished with magnificent spell of 3 wickets for 26 runs in his 10 overs that included 3 maiden overs.
During this process, he effected a brilliant caught and bowled to dismiss the out of form Jason Roy that became the highlight of the game.
Josh Hazlewood proves the selectors wrong
It was a shocker of a decision when the Australian selectors dropped Josh Hazlewood from 2019 world cup squad and went ahead with Nathan Coulter Nile and Jason Behrendorff which proved to a defining moment is their world cup campaign as their 3rd bowler in that competition didn’t perform as expected.
When England were asked to chase 295 runs on a spicy wicket that had bounce and helped the fast bowlers to large extent, Australian bowlers were top notch to tie down the England batters for nothing.
Josh Hazlewood broke the back of the England batting line-up when he dismissed Jason Roy courtesy a brilliant return catch by the bowler himself.
A very good catch.

Glenn Maxwell to the rescue
Earlier, England won the toss and asked Australians to bat first and they exploited the conditions as they restricted Australia in the first half of the innings where Australia lost their first 5 wickets under 120 but it was the partnership between Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh that helped Australia post a Respectable total.
Glenn Maxwell scored 77 and Mitchell Marsh scored 73 that turned out to be a decisive factor in the match. The 2nd ODI is at the same venue on Sunday.
