U19 World Cup final between India U19 and Bangladesh turned ugly moments after Bangladesh were crowned champions. As soon as Bangladesh hit the winning runs to win the title, the players on both sides were seen having a go and each other.
The reason behind the ugly scene and what triggered it in the first place is not clear. The incident took place when the Bangladesh players and support staff came running onto the field.
There was a lot of pushing and shoving for about a minute. The on-field umpires and support staff had to separate the cricketers from both sides. India U19 coach Paras Mhambrey was also seen getting thing calmed and lead India boys back to the dressing room.

Captains react
“What happened, it should not [have] happened. I don’t know what exactly happened. I didn’t ask what was going on. But, you know, in the final, emotion can come out, and sometimes the boys were getting pumped, and emotions were coming through. As a youngster, it shouldn’t happen. In any position, in any manner, we have to show respect to the opponent, we should have respect for the game. Cricket is known for being a gentleman’s game. So I’ll say, I’ll be sorry for my team” said Bangladesh captain Akbar Ali post-match.
“We were easy. We think it’s part and parcel of the game – you win some and you lose some. But their reaction was dirty. I think it shouldn’t have happened. But it’s okay,” said India captain Priyam Garg.
