South African veteran Imran Tahir is one of the most entertaining cricketers of the modern era. From his running celebration to his interactive tweets on Twitter, he is a superstar among fans when it comes to entertainment. In the recently concluded Qualifier 1 of the Pakistan Super League, the crafty leg spinner showed his new celebration style after taking a catch near the boundary ropes. This celebration became an instant hit amongst the fans and it is even trending on social media right now.
Tahir’s new celebration goes viral
This 41-year-old cricketer is behind no one when it comes to intensified on-field celebrations. The most famous of his celebration is the running celebration that he does after taking a wicket. It has even become his trademark celebration. But this time playing for the Multan Sultans in the PSL, the veteran decided to change his normal celebration style.

The incident happened in the first ball of the fourth over. Facing the bowling of Sohail Tanvir, Sharjeel Khan mistimed a pull shot and it skied straight towards the only fielder in the deep mid-wicket region. Imran Tahir who was stationed there almost made a mess of that catch. It was a straightforward catch, but he raced across to take it, slipped mid-way but somehow managed to land alright to complete an otherwise easy catch. But what caught the eye was not his catch, it was his swag celebration style. He stayed on the ground and then crossed his legs to produce a swag celebration. Tahir gave a pose as if he was relaxing in the mid-wicket.

Super over to decide the finalists
Despite such celebrations from the Multan Sultans, the game didn’t go as planned for them. At one point they were nowhere in the race. But a strong fightback in the death overs meant that they drag the game down to the super over. But some serious clean hits from Kings batsman Sherfane Rutherford meant that Kings overcome the Sultans challenge for a place in the playoffs.
