Deepti Sharma’s brilliance was once again on full display during the India Women vs England Women ODI played on Friday morning. Sharma ran-out the English batswoman Katherine Brunt fielding in her follow-through while she was bowling.
What did Deepti Sharma do?
India Women were on the field while defending the scored of 123/6 which they posted batting first against England Women. Starting well Rajeshwari Gayakwad picked up the wicket of Amy Ellen Jones in the first over itself. Soon Radha Yadav also accounted for Danielle Wyatt’s wicket in the 5th over of England Women innings.
It was then Natalie Sciver and Katherine Brunt joined the forces to steady the innings. As the English pair were trying to build a partnership Deepti Sharma’s moment of brilliance gave India Women a reason to celebrate.
In the 6th over of the England Women innings, Deepti Sharma was bowling to Natalie Sciver and Katherine Brunt was at the non-strikers’ end. On the 2nd ball of the over, Sciver played a straight drive back to the bowler which Sharma flicked to the stumps catching Brunt short off the crease while backing too far at the non-strikers’ end.

What’s Next?
Despite all the efforts in the field, India Women lost the game to England Women. They next face Australia Women on Saturday in their quest to stay alive in the series. A loss on Saturday would see the Indian Women bowing out of the triangular series. Indian Women will hope for improved performance on Saturday to stay alive in the race for the final.
