Watch: Bumrah has some fun with the bat in net session

Jasprit Bumrah will play a crucial role in the bowling department for the Indian team in the Australian series but ahead of the first T2oI he had a good session with the bat in the nets and played some aggressive strokes.

Bumrah’s surprisingly good batting skills at display

Team India had an extensive training session At Brisbane on Tuesday with the first T20I in mind. The Indian batsmen honed their skills by having batting sessions in the nets however one more player had a pretty good batting session and it was Jasprit Bumrah.

The 24-year-old who is in the team as a pace bowler played with aggression in the nets and hammered a few shots. The right-hand batsman was seen playing some lofted shots over mid-wicket and he even stepped out of his crease.

Bumrah’s batting record

The right-arm pace bowler has batted in only six innings so far as he generally bats at number 11 for India. In six innings he has scored a total of eight runs and remained not out on four occasions.

In Tests, he averages 1.42 after 11 innings and has an average of 2.75 in six ODI innings.

However, his numbers in the bowling department make him one of the best in the business in recent times. He has claimed 78 ODI wickets and has accumulated 28 Test wickets in just 12 innings.

Kohli praises Bumrah and Bhuvi

The Indian captain said that both Bhuvi and Bumrah are good and he feels that they have the ability to predict what is going to happen on each ball.

Kohli also noted that the duo does get dominated by the batsmen sometimes like everyone does but he backed them up by saying that 85 to 90 percent, they are correct.

India will face off Australia in the first T20I on Wednesday.
