Watch: Bumrah challenges Kohli for a face-off in Star Sports’ IPL ad

While all eyes are on the upcoming ICC World Cup, the 2019 edition of Indian Premier League is set to begin in the month of March. And the official broadcaster of this T20 tournament, the Star Sports has created an advertisement in which Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is challenging Indian captain Virat Kohli for a face-off.

Bumrah wants to dismiss the world’s best batsman

The young right-arm pace bowler is currently the number one ODI bowler and the ad starts with this stat. Then Bumrah argues that before becoming the world’s best bowler he has to overcome the world’s best batsman and hence he challenges Virat Kohli who is currently the number one ODI and Test batsman.

The Indian pace bowler also reminds Kohli that this time he is not even in Kohli’s team, so the Indian captain should prepare himself for this battle.

Bumrah stats in the ad that he wants to knock Kohli’s stumps out and then he can have the tag of the world’s best bowler.

Interestingly Bumrah bowled his first delivery in IPL to Kohli only and Kohli was Bumrah’s first IPL wicket.

IPl to start from March 23

The Lok Sabha elections had raised doubts over 2019 IPL’s schedule but BCCI has made it clear that the IPL matches will be held in India only and recently the schedule for the first two weeks has been announced.

The T20 tournament begins on March 23, with defending champions Chennai Super Kings taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore while Mumbai Indians will play their first match on March 24 against Delhi Capitals.

Kohli will be leading Royal Challengers Bangalore while Bumrah will be featuring for Mumbai Indians.

The face-off between Kohli and Bumrah can happen in the game between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore which is scheduled on 28th March.
