On Friday, while captaining the Mohammedan Sporting Club in a game against Abahani Limited, Shakib Al Hasan shockingly lost his temper twice on the on-field umpire. In the first occasion, he got involved in a heated argument with the umpire after he didn’t got the LBW decision in his behaviour and instead the left-arm spinner fiercely kicked the stumps to vent his anger. However, on the second time during the same match, Shakib was seen uprooting the stumps with his own hands following the umpires’ decision to stop the match due to rain when only one ball was left to complete the 6th over which could have eventually finished the game as well.

Shakib Al Hasan Apology

However, after the shocking scenes went all over the internet, Shakib Al Hasan has issued an apology while realizing his mistake. The senior Bangladesh all-rounder admitted that he should have controlled his actions irrespective of the situation being an experienced player.

“Dear fans and followers, I am extremely sorry for losing my temper and ruining the match for everyone and especially those who are watching from home. An experienced player like me should not have reacted that way but sometimes against all odds it happens unfortunately.

“I apologise to the teams, management, tournament officials and organizing committee for this human error. Hopefully, I won’t be repeating this again in future. Thanks and love you all,” wrote Shakib Al Hasan in his statement given on social media.
